Company History

The company was founded in 1985 as a California corporation, under the name Applipro to signify Applications Programming. In 1989 the name was changed to Modular Information Systems to more accurately reflect the expanded services and products being offered by the firm.

Originally, Modular focused on application software support. Over the years, Modular has been a resource for custom development and maintenance programming for many Manufacturing, Distribution, Accounting, Transportation, Utility, Government, Insurance, Medical, and Mail Order software packages.

Our long term expertise in the Multi Value databases makes us a key supplier of database management, support and development skills for all of the Multi Value platforms.

Over time, Modular has added the services necessary to provide full service IT consulting. Our goal is to provide any, or all, of the resources necessary for our clients to operate their Information Systems Departments.

In 1994, Modular added the Vintners Advantage Winery Software to their product line which today has hundreds of users and is also available in a Saas offering (Software as a service) for boutique wineries and small vintners. Vintners Advantage provides enterprise wide winery management functionality for Vineyard, Harvest, Winery Operations, Spirits, Barrel Management, Bulk Wine Sales & Purchase Contracts, Bottling, Case Goods, Warehouse Management and Financial Management.

In 2009 Modular acquired the Bottlesoft Software, a premier Winery Bottling and Case Goods software product operating on IBM AS400/Series I platforms.
